Orlando Cabrera Defies the Useless Countdown

Orlando Cabrera did not pass Tim McCarver on the all-time Home Run List. No, instead of breaking the record, Cabrera decides to hold us all hostage until next year. Good job, O. Maybe we won't even remember your silly little pursuit next year.

Or maybe you'll rub it in everyone's face and hit a HR a game in the playoffs.

In a weird occurrence of statistical convergence, both Chase Utley and David Wright ended the season with 97 career HRs, tied with Cabrera, McCarver, Cap Anson, and John Vander Wal.

Maybe we'll follow their pursuit of Orlando Cabrera next season. Bet they don't go over a month without knocking one out.
